my first job got at $9 an hour dude, try best buy or temp. agencies.
you can still get a Z under $12000 btw.
if not, then here're some budget buy:
1st gen eclipse gsx, those things can easily hang with tt's for $12000, (don't bomb me for this =D, it's the truth)
95 eclipse gst/gsx, a lil more, but looks much better, and just as easy to mod.
95 integra gsr, purty cheap, millions of aftermarket, but played out, fortunately not AS played out as civics. and you might get flamed from honda haters.
240sx like halo said, get a sil80 body for 3-4k, swap for another 4k, BAM! 8k jspec sil80.
sport bike, but your parents will dis-own you
here's a lil' fav of mine, but really rare, 91-93 celica gts all track.
turbo 220 hp all wheel drive. much less mod support than 1st gen eclipse, but looks better IMHO
95 200sx se-r, great car, lots of mods available, turbo kits, or even sr20det swap.
2nd gen CRX, light as hell, swap in a b18c and you'll take off like a bat.
cheapest choice: year round bus-pass, economical, roomy, you don't even have to worry about gas money =Dpeace
